BETTENDORF -- Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Paul J. Arnould, will be 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf....Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Paul died Monday, Jan. 26, 2004, at Genesis East Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born Aug. 27, 1917, in Davenport, the son of Joseph and Mary Arnould. He graduated from St. Ambrose Academy in 1936 and attended Browns Business College. Paul served as Staff Sergeant in the Army during World War II. He married Eileen C. Basemann on Nov. 27, 1941, in Davenport. She preceded in death Jan. 29, 1984. He retired in 1981 as an Accountant for Alcoa. His memberships include Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf, Davenport Speakers Club, Davenport Moose Club, Bettendorf Lions Club and Center for Active Seniors Inc. (CASI). Paul enjoyed baseball, reading and playing cards with his buddies. His corny sense of humor will be greatly missed.
