On December 28, 2012 at 7:30 a.m. an angel came down and took our Laura home to be reunited with brother Rodney and many other loved ones. She smiled as she walked through Heaven's gates, but had an aching in her heart as she watched from above; her three daughters Krystal Ball, Bethany (Ball) Neppl and Katie Ball crying with heavy hearts. "Please don't cry tears of sadness. Don't you know I am no longer in pain or suffering? Cry tears of happiness; of the memories we created and shared." Laura was born in La Harpe, Illinois to Robert and Joyce Louden on June 23rd, 1950 at Mary Davier Hospital. In Laura's final days she was surrounded by family and friends both in person and in spirit. Her room was filled with joy and laughter, tears and prayers. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 29th, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. on Garland Drive. A memorial service will be held in her home town in Illinois where she will be placed to rest.

Laura Louise Louden Ball, 62, passed away after a brief illness on Friday December 28, 2012 in San Diego, CA., closely attended by her three daughters. She was born June 23, 1950 in LaHarpe, IL., the daughter of Robert and Joyce Stevenson Louden. She was raised on the family farm near Terre Haute and attended Terre Haute Grade School and LaHarpe High School. The family moved to Oquawka, IL., and she graduated from Union High School in 1968.

Laura was actively involved in cheerleading, school band, and church youth programs at the Terre Haute United Methodist Church. After graduation, she worked for the FBI as a fingerprint analyst in Washington, DC. She married Richard Ball in Camden, Maine on July 17, 1970. They later divorced.

She and her family lived in Maine before moving to San Diego in 1976. Laura worked in the North Island Credit Union for many years. After her children were grown, she moved to Bakersfield, CA to be near her oldest daughter and family, spending most of her time helping chauffeur the grandchildren to their many activities. Two years ago, she moved back to the San Diego area, enjoying retirement with her many friends in the area. She enjoyed walks on the beach, ocean sunsets, and whale watching.

She was a homemaker, loved being with family and friends, sewed, planned neighborhood parties, enjoyed tennis, and was a fan of the San Diego Padres and San Diego Chargers.
