Funeral services were Monday, June 23, at 2 p.m. at Grace Methodist Church in Kennard for Wanda Lou Vogt, 53, who died suddenly on June 19, 1980, at her farm home near Kennard, where she had resided most of her life. Rev. John Fritzmeier officiated at the services. Burial was in Blair Cemetery.

Wanda Lou Vogt was born April 12, 1927, at the same family farm near Kennard where she died, to the late John and Louise Vogt. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church near Bennington and was confirmed at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard. She was married in 1948 and to that marriage one son, Duane, was born.

She believed strongly in 4-H work during all her life and participated actively during the time her son was involved in 4-H. She also helped her parents with the farming. Her death was shortly preceded by that of her mother on June 8, 1980. She was also preceded in death by her father and one brother.

Survivors include her son, Duane J. Vogt, Kennard; two sisters, Mrs. Irvin (Virginia) Suhr of Oakland, Nebraska, and Mrs. Dale (Vere Belle) Epler, Omaha; four nieces and several aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers for the services were William Bennett, Charles McNew, Hansel Vogt, Henry Lammers, Robert McNew and Richard Nielsen.
