CLARK FUNERAL HELD WEDNESDAY
Funeral services were held yesterday morning at 10 o'clock at the Baptist church for Mrs. Laura Clark who passed away at the home of her son, John Henderson, Wednesday morning. Rev. Grider was in charge of the service using
I Peter 5:7 after which he read a very appropriate poem. A ladies quartet sang "The Unclouded Day", "Nearer my God to Thee," and "Asleep in Jesus." Rev. Chapman read scripture from Ecc. 12, followed by a short talk and comments on the life of Grandma Clark who was a true pioneer woman of Texas county. Interment was made in the Guymon Cemetery under the direction of Moore Funeral Home.

On April 9, 1850, there was born to Thomas and Sarah Cook in Jacksonville, Alabama, a little girl baby. She was given the name of Laura. When a small girl she moved with her parents to Limestone County, Texas where she grew to young womanhood. In 1875, she was united n marriage to Thomas Henderson. To their union was born 3 children, John Henderson of Guymon, Pearl Ruset and Lena Reives, both daughters preceded her in death.

Her husband passed to his reward in Texas in 1885. In 1889, she moved with her children to Hess, Oklahoma. In 1906, she moved to Texas county, Oklahoma where she has made her home until she was called to her reward.

In 1922, she was united in marriage to Thomas Clark of Eva, Oklahoma. She was converted in young womanhood and joined the Baptist Church. She loved her church and her Lord.

She leaves to mourn her going, one son, John Henderson of Guymon; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, and a host of friends.

She passed away at 5 o'clock, January 11, 1940 at the home of her son in Guymon, being 89 years, 9 months and 6 days.

PLEASE NOTE: The death date on the tombstone is 1853, while the obituary gives 1850 as the death date. Her age at death agrees with the birth date of 1850.
