Thomas M. Andrews, 81, passed away April 5, 2012. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 7, 2012, at First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Prairie View Cemetery.

Thomas was born in Alva, Oklahoma, to the late Marvin and Mable Anderson Andrews. After graduating from high school, he was offered a football scholarship to SMU. He served in the U.S. Navy and then received his Bachelor and Law Degree at the University of Texas.

He moved to Aransas Pass in 1959 where he established his law practice with Bill Ellis and later Allen Lawrence. He served one term in the Texas Legislature and recently received his 50 years service pin from the Texas Bar Association. He was a member of the VFW and was serving as director of Coastal Bend Foundation.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, L'Ella Griffin Andrews, of Aransas Pass, Texas; sons, Thomas D. Andrews (Ike), of Corpus Christi, and John K. Andrews, of San Antonio; daughters, Sally Andrews (Keli), of Houston, Susan Dromgoole and husband, Phillip, of Ingleside, Texas; grandchildren: Samantha, Megan and Kelly Dromgoole, and Lexi Stanfield; brother, Robert G. Andrews and wife, Betty, of Austin; other relatives and many friends.
