Alan R. Antonucci of Melrose passed away after a lengthy illness at the age of 51. The beloved son of Elaine (Anderson)Antonucci of Melrose and the late Alfred Antonucci. Al was a graduate of Melrose High School Class of 1978, He attended Norwich University and played College Ice Hockey and Football. Alan was an avid golfer, winning many local club tourneys. He worked for 18 years for the Middlesex County Sheriff's Office as a Corrections Officer. Alan participated annually in the Make-a-Wish Foundation's Motorcycle Ride. He was the loving brother of Dean Antonucci and his wife Marcy of North Reading and Laura Antonucci Foster and her husband Rob of Wayne, NJ. Dear Uncle to Nicole, Corin, Ryann, Joseph, Robert, Michael and AJ (Alfred). Also survived by many Aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A Funeral Mass for Al will be celebrated on Tuesday February 8 at The Church of the Incarnation 425 Upham St Melrose at 10AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Norton Funeral Home 287 Main St MALDEN on Monday from 4:00pm - 8:00pm. The family requests that you please omit flowers and instead you remember Alan with a donation in his name to Pancreatic Research & Development 100 Cambridge Street Boston,MA 02114. Interment in the Family lot at Wyoming Cemetery Melrose will be private at a later date.
