A loving and beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, Rita Barbara Riley, 64, passed away Oct. 22, 2009, from a two and one-half year courageous and strong-willed battle with cancer. She was born in Salt Lake City, April 21, 1945. A longtime resident of Las Vegas, she raised her two daughters in Omaha, Neb., and returned to Las Vegas, only to meet the love of her life, Riley. She will be remembered as a truly caring, giving and gentle soul to those close to her heart. Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Rodger and Edith Huff. Rita is survived by her husband, William Riley; daughters, Kellie Gillett and Tracy Whittington; and sister, Vada Hanlon. She embraced her 10 stepchildren; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at St. Viator's Catholic Church, Lower Chapel, 2461 E. Flamingo Road.
