Services were held Monday morning for 87 year old Elmer B. Jensen who died Friday, March 30 at the Crowell Home in Blair. The 2 p.m. service was held at the First United Methodist Church in Blair with Dr. Gordon Patterson officiating. Burial was in the Prairie View Cemetery at Kennard with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jensen was a retired farmer from the Kennard and Arlington area. He was born at Kennard, Nebraska on May 21, 1896. He is survived by two children, six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one brother and one sister. The children are Allen Eugene of Lincoln, and Joyce Smith of Omaha. The brother is Lillard Jensen of Omaha and Mrs. Edna Kruse of California.
Mr. Jensen was a member of the Arlington American Legion, Kennard Masonic Lodge and Odd Fellows Lodge.

From the family chronicles of Soren and Anne Sine Petersen Jensen and descendants:
Elmer lived with his family and helped on the farm until he enlisted in 1917 for duty in World War I. He was in training at Camp Cody, Deming, New Mexico and was then sent to France where he served until the war ended. In 1920, after his marriage, he took over his father's 240-acre farm near Orum. In the 1950's, Elmer sold the farm and moved to Blair.
