TUPELO - Reba Corene Smith, 75, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2004, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born Feb. 20, 1929, in Tupelo to the late Willie H. Randall and Amelia V. Taylor. She graduated from the Tupelo Public School System. She was an employee of The Peoples Bank & Trust Company in Tupelo and a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Tupelo. She enjoyed shopping and drinking coffee with her friends at Waffle House.


Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at West Jackson Street Baptist Church in Tupelo with the Rev. Kevin Ray, the Rev. Wayne Thorn and the Rev. Bert Harper officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.


Survivors include her husband of 62 years, the Rev. Frank Wilson Smith of Tupelo; four daughters, Reba Maxwell and husband, Larry, of Zion, Ill., Elaine O'Doherty of Dallas, Texas, Betty Brasfield and husband, Eddie, of Okolona, and Tammy Nowell and husband, Mike, of Tupelo; a sister, Jewell Worthey of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother, Edward Randall & Family (Niece)Harriet Randall,(Nephew) Ed and Alice, Zachary & Grady Randall of Tupelo; six grandchildren, Patt Maxwell of Zion, IL.; Amelia "Beth" Reisch and Husband Ashton of Winthrop Harbor, IL.; Daniel O'Doherty & Wife Amanda of Farmington, NM., Siobhan O'Doherty of Dallas, TX., Dorinda Ozbirn and Nathan Walker of Tupelo, MS.. Great Grand Children: Malai Maxwell, Haley Maxwell (Reisch),(Post) Kyla and Ashlyn Reisch of Illinois and Conner Cahir O'Doherty of New Mexico.


She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lucille Baskins.


Pallbearers will be her Son in-Law Larry Maxwell, grandsons Patrick Maxwell, Nathan Walker and Daniel O'Doherty and Her Nephew Edward Randall.


Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and one hour prior to service Wednesday at the church.

Note: Reverend Smith was the pastor for Elvis Presley's family in Tupelo. Corene has pictures that were published of Elvis' early years in Sunday School. Also Available for viewing at the Elvis Presley Birthplace Museum in Tupelo, Mississippi.
