BLOOMING GROVE- Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Blooming Grove for Joel M. Dixon, 78, of Blooming Grove and native of Emhouse, who died at 3 a.m. Friday at Memorial Hospital. Rev. Gene Gardner will officiate, and burial will be at Dresden Cemetery. Arrangements are with McCormick Funeral Home.
He was a deacon of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Virgie Dixon of Blooming Grove; a son, Ray Dixon of Blooming Grove; a daughter, Mrs. Faye Middlebrook of Navarro; a granddaughter, Rhonda Dixon of Blooming Grove; three sisters, Mrs. Nell Collins, and Mrs. J. W. Tallant, both of Corsicana, and Mrs. E.O. Stewart of Fort Worth; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Weldon Gorham, Bobby Staggs, Vic Roach, Troy W. Dixon, Don Collins and Vernon Tallant.
