MINEOLA-Funeral services for Grover Eugene and Shirley Townsend Hood, both of Mineola, will be held at Beaty Funeral Home on Monday, December 31, 2012, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Brian Jensen officiating.
Mr. and Mrs. Hood died December 27, 2012.
Mr. Hood was born November 11, 1933, in Blue Ridge and Mrs. Hood was born February 10, 1932, in Springfield, Illinois. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired electrical lineman. She was a homemaker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claudis and Hattie Hood; three brothers and one sister.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Dora Anne and three sisters.
He is survived by two sons, Darrell Hood, Lone Oak and Barry Hood, Dallas; a sister, Myrtle Reynolds, Garland and three grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Jesse Townsend, Hurst; a daughter, Deborah Jensen, Richmond, Texas; one brother, Jack Zeilenga, California and a sister, Charlene Hyatt, Le Mesa, California; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Burial will follow in Cedars Memorial Gardens, Mineola.
