William N. Borenstein passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital on April 3, 2008 after a lengthy chronic illness. He was 47 years of age. Bill was born in Malden, raised in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1980. He attended the University of New Hampshire where he was a member of the Alpha Gamma Fraternity. He worked in the department of safety division for the Sate of Massachusetts for over 15 years. Mr. Borenstein lived most of his life in Melrose, Stoneham for 5 years and the past 5 years in Revere. Bill enjoyed sports, baseball, football and his fantasy baseball league. He was the son of Norman W. Borenstein and the late Jeanne A. (Perodeau) Borenstein. Brother of James A. Borenstein & his wife Kathleen of Melrose. Uncle of Audrey, Elise & Jonathan. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose, on Wed., April 9th at 9AM. Funeral Mass in The Church of the Incarnation, 425 Upham St. Melrose at 10AM. Relatives & friends invited. Visiting hours Tues. 4-8PM. Interment in Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
