Died, September 22, 1900, in Grey Eagle, Edmund Callahan, aged 81 years and 7 months. Mr. Callahan came to this town with his family over thirty years ago, when there were very few settlers in this part of the county. His wife died about ten years ago. Since then he has lived with his children, five of whom are left to mourn the loss of a father. They are: Mrs. Wm. Alderman, Jacob Callahan, Mrs. M. Beach and Miss Addie Callahan of this town, and W. T. Callahan of Long Prairie. Mr. Callahan was a good man, a kind neighbor, and has left hosts of friends to mourn his loss.
Husband to America Jane, Edmund was son of Thomas George Callahan, b. 1796 d. Jun. 6, 1873 (also in Lakeview).
