Regina Pearl French, 69, of Dayton, Ohio passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Hospice of Dayton. The Ironton, Ohio native was born August 30, 1943, the daughter of the late Emerson and Pearl Leach Browning.

Regina was a graduate of Ironton High School and attended the Lawrence County Joint Vocational School. She was a former shipping clerk for AK Steel in Middletown, Ohio for 28 years, retiring in 2005. She was also a member of the Clear Springs Primitive Baptist Church in Spring Valley, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
a sister, Mary Edith Browning.

She is survived by
a son, James F. Compton II and his wife, Sherry of Clayton, Ohio;
a daughter, Robin Walls and her husband, Scott of Dayton, Ohio;
a son, Jerry French of Dayton, Ohio;
3 brothers, Emerson Browning of Dayton, Ohio, Kenneth Browning of Ironton, Ohio and Charles Browning of Kettering, Ohio;
2 sisters, Betty Sturgill and Carol Reeves both of Ironton, Ohio;
7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral service at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio with Pastor Matt O'Bryant officiating. Burial in Woodland Cemetery.
