Rachel Catherine Hillman went home to the Lord on December 27, 2012. She leaves behind family and friends that already miss her and look forward to the day we will all see her again.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 28, 2012 from 5-7 pm at Flora United Methodist Church. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 3:00pm at Tri-County Academy preceded by visitation at 2:00pm. Interment will follow at Flora Cemetery.

Miss Hillman was a native and resident of Flora. She was born on August 14, 1992 and had a bright future ahead of her. She was a 2010 graduate of Tri-County Academy and currently attended Mississippi State University. Rachel grew up in a strong and loving Christian family and was herself a follower of Christ. She was a faithful member of the Flora United Methodist Church and an active member of the Emmaus Community. A room would light up when Rachel entered it. Her infectious smile and bubbly personality always made others feel better, which made her major of public relations a natural choice.

Rachel is survived by her loving parents, Jeff and Cathy Hillman, and brothers, Cooper and Connor, all of Flora. She also leaves behind maternal grandparents, Don and Marylou Lane, of Flora and paternal grandfather, Joe W. Cooper, of Philadelphia, MS. She was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Helen Ruth Cooper.

Rachel also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends that miss her dearly. She will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Flora United Methodist Church PO Box 289, Flora, MS 39071. The family requests that the memorials be designated for either the church Building Fund or the Flora Emmaus and Chrysalis Community Group for future scholarships.
