Marvin C. Webb, 89, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away on December 27, 2012.
Marvin was born in rural Hatfield, Missouri area on August 4, 1923 to Edgar Preston and Ethel (Snead) Webb.
He lived in the St. Joseph, Osborn, Maysville, Rosendale and Cameron area. Marvin graduated from Rosendale High School. He attended Hillyard's and was certified in electronics.
Marvin owned and operated Marv's TV Sales and Service and Ajax Pest Control.
He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and Holy Name Society.
During his lifetime, he belonged to Grain Millers # 8, Eagles, Missouri Labor Temple, International Labor Temple, UCW Local 125 and the American Legion.
Marvin served in WWII in the Army Air Force in the South Pacific Theater during 1943-1946.
He worked at MFA Feed and Grain for 23 years. In 1987, he retired from Quaker Oats after 17 years of service. Afterwards, he worked for Cameron Housing Authority for 18 years in maintenance and later Chairman of the Board of Commissioners.
Marvin married Betty J. McVicker on February 16, 1947. They were married 57 years. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2004.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Billy Webb; brother, Herman Webb; brothers-in-law, Jim, Bud and Jake McVicker and Tom Thompson.
Marvin married Norma Gay Carr on February 19, 2005. She survives of the home.
Additional survivors: daughter, Jeanne Webb; 5 grandchildren, John Timothy O'Callaghan, Shannon Webb, Shawn Webb, Billy Webb and Hayley Webb; 9 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Melvin (Dixie) Webb; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Roger) Linder, Doris Thompson and Mary (Don) Thompson; numerous nieces and nephews.
