She was born July 19, 1930, to Tom and Katherine (Holmes) Harris in Carbondale.
She married Robert Dixon on Oct. 6, 1946. He preceded her in death Aug. 29, 2001.
Pearl attended the Presbyterian church in Herrin.
She was a homemaker, loved to garden and plant flowers and loved to sew and read.
Pearl has now joined her life-long friend, her husband, in heaven.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Winget of Hurst and Terrie (Phillip) Hewlett of West Frankfort; three grandsons, Robert (Beverly) Winget of Cambria, Brice (Melissa) Winget of Carbondale, and James Kelly of Chicago; a granddaughter, Rebecca Hewlett of West Frankfort; great-grandchildren, Amanda, Jonathan and Jacob Winget of Carbondale; a sister, Musette Roberts of Chester; two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Puttman of Murphysboro and Loretta Dixon Cox of Makanda; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two sisters; and three brothers.
Services for Pearl Marie Dixon will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, in Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael Nubert officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home.
