Jacqueline Elaine Bliss, 84, died Dec. 26, 2012, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 11, 1928, in Hamilton, Kan., the daughter of John Henry and Violet Georgia (Guffey) Rush.
She was a resident of Great Bend from 1952 until moving to Hutchinson in 1986. She was a member of New Life Church of the Nazarene. Jacqueline was a homemaker and a foster parent for South Hutchinson Elementary School.
On June 23, 1945, she married Wayne A. Bliss in Inman, Kan. He died Sept. 22, 1998.
Survivors include: three children, Marcia McNett (Marvin) of Sylvia, Patrica Julian (Bob Blake) of Partridge, Dennis Bliss (Sue) of Omaha, Neb.; sisters, Laura Mae Burgess of Smith Center, Dorothy Eller of Bemidji, Minn.; a stepsister, Dorothy June Swatzel of St. George; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren and a great great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband; father, John Henry Rush; mother, Violet Georgia Rush-Eller; a brother and a sister.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at New Life Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Gary Worthington presiding. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 12 noon to 9 p.m. Friday with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Life Church of the Nazarene, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
