Doris Benson Beatty, age 84, of Wilmington, NC, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday December 25, 2012, at North Chase Nursing Home.
Doris was born on March 17, 1928, in Atkinson, NC, daughter of the late B.W. Benson and Mattie L. Adams Benson.
She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and an avid gardener.
Including her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jess Beatty whom she married on July 2, 1971, in Conway, SC; a sister, Hilderth Tuttle and a brother, Boyd Benson.
Doris is survived by her children; Kenneth W. Futch and his wife Jackie, John D. Futch, Charlene M. Bilton and her husband, Delbert, Cindy Bullard and Donald Futch; step daughter, Linda Parker and step son, Gary Beatty; also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday December 28, 2012 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Arnold Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington, NC 28409.
