James Bennie Glisson, 81, of Palatka, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center following an extended illness.
Bennie owned and operated Glisson Oil Company during the 1960's.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty Glisson, a son, John Glisson (Patsy) of Palatka, a daughter, Ellen Lumpkin (John) of Lake Mary, a brother Wess Glisson of Palatka, an uncle, Thomas Glisson (Jean) of Lake Como, 2 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor John Iskat officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill West Cemetery with the U.S. Navy conducting military honors. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:30 A.M. till the time of services.
