Shirley A. Wood, 66, of Lapel, passed away on December 25, 2012 at Miller's Merry Manor in Middleton, IN. She was born on September 16, 1946 in Noblesville. She resided in Lapel for the past ten years with her sister Nancy Horn.
Shirley graduated from Lapel High School in 1964.
She is a retired Office Worker for Bass Publishing in Montgomery, Alabama.
Shirley is survived by her children; Christina Goldman-Wolfe of Montgomery, AL, Shelly (Kenneth) Segrest of Prattville, AL; step-children, Kelley (Joel) Winsett of Wetumpka, AL, Phillip Wood of Tallassee, AL; sisters; Judy Cornelius of Ft. Myers, FL, Nancy Horn of Lapel, IN, Carolyn (Bill) Sheen of Ft. Myers, FL; sister-in-law, Renee Anderson of Lapel, IN and a special friend, Kathy Trusty of Montgomery, AL. Shirley was also survived by several grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Garold Anderson, Martha (Roudebush) Anderson, step-children; Tim Wood and Cynthia Corley and a son-in-law; Kenneth Wolfe, brother; Gary Anderson, sister; Vicky Anderson, and her brother-in-law's; David Cornelius, and Fred Horn.
There will be a gathering and celebration of her life on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at her sister's residence, where she resided, 625 Central Ave., Lapel, IN 46051.
Shirley's request was to be cremated and burial of her remains at Brookside Cemetery, Lapel which will be at a later date.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, Anderson.
