Whitney Blake Hill, age 44, of Ashley, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 in Crossroads Hospital, Mt. Vernon, IL.
Whitney was born on September 2, 1968 in Amarillo, TX, a daughter of Orville and Evangeline (Garcia) Cordell. On July 25, 1987, she married Bradley Hill in San Antonio, TX and he survives. Whitney was a member of New Hope Community Church, Pinckneyville, IL where she was a member of Women of Hope group and did computer tech work. Whitney enjoyed quilting, baking and delivering Christmas cookies to her neighbors and Christmas caroling. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed homeschooling her children. Whitney loved her family and her church and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her loving husband, Bradley Hill of Ashley, IL; eight children, Jennifer (Craig) Emery of Ashley, IL, Phelisha (Drew) Johnson of DuQuoin, IL, Justin Hill, Jonathan Hill, Jacklyn Hill, Joshua Hill, Caleb Hill and Jaelyn Hill all of Ashley, IL; three grandchildren, Catherine and Anne Emery and Aubree Tiller; father, Orville (Edith) Cordell of Amarillo, TX; mother, Evangeline Cordell of San Antonio, TX; father-in-law, Paul Hill of Pinckneyville, IL; five brothers, Casey Cordell of Amarillo, TX, Kelly (Tanya) Cordell of Arlington, TX, Carlos (Nadine) Cordell of San Antonio, TX, Larry (Dulce) Cordell of San Antonio, TX, and Gene (Lori) Cordell of Arlington, TX; one sister, Lisa (Dale) Whitlock of Pleasant Hope, MO; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Nancy "Joy" Hill; and grandparents, Carlotta and Carlos Garcia and O.D. and Luzelle Cordell.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Clardy officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Friends may call at New Hope Community Church on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
