A Pioneer Citizen Dead

Andrew G. Egenes, of Story City was born in Norway April 8, 1832, and died August 29, 1908, being 76 years, 4 months and 23 days old. He leaves a wife, son and a daughter besides numerous friends and relatives to mourn his death. For several years he has been blind and in feeble health and upon his wife has fallen the burden of caring for him.

He lived for many years on a farm seven miles northeast of Roland and was well and favorably known to a large number of people here. The past six years he has lived at Story City.

The funeral was held on Tuesday September 1st from St. Petri church, Rev. O. P. Vangsnes officiating after which the remains were laid to rest in the Story City cemetery.
