Orville Elwood Czykowski Sr., 75, of Vanderbilt, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 1995 at his home. Mr. Czykowski was born Oct. 1, 1919 in Elmira and had been a longtime resident of Vanderbilt.

He had worked as a heavy equipment operator for H&D Construction, delivered milk for Gaylord Dairy and most recently, had worked for and retired from US Plywood.

Mr. Czykowski was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Navy.

His great loves were fishing and traveling.

Mr. Czykowski is survived by his wife, Marion; his children, Orville, Jr. of Roscommon, Linda (Junior) Barnes of Wolverine, Sharon (Robert) Glazier of Boise, ID, Michael of Vanderbilt, Patrick (Paige) of Boise, ID; stepchildren, Richard (Kathy) Gault of Kuna, ID, Robert (Barb) Gault of Rochester, NY, Dawn (Tom) Glazier of Boise, ID; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Betty Powers in 1971.

Funeral services for Mr. Czykowski were Tuesday, Aug. 15, 1995 at 3 p.m. from the Nelson Funeral Home, the Rev. John Boyd officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Czykowski was in state at the Nelson Funeral Home where friends called Tuesday until the time of services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Otsego Area Hospice through the Nelson Funeral Home, 135 N.Center Ave. Gaylord, MI 49735.
