Mrs. Louis Klessig, 83, a state pioneer, passed away at St. Agnes hospital, Fond du Lac, Wednesday. Mrs. Klessig had been in poor health for the past few years, and fell and broke her hip Jan. 2, when she was taken to the hospital.

Mrs. Klessig, nee Bertha Bubolz, was born in the town of Rockland, Manitowoc County, Jan. 2, 1867, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bubolz. She received her education in public schools in that township.

On Oct. 28, 1897, she married Mr. Klessig in a ceremony performed at St. James Lutheran church, Reedsville. Her husband preceded her in death five years ago. Mrs. Klessig was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, Rantoul.

Survivors include five children, Carl, Mrs. Ed. (Elsie) Lemke, Mrs. William (Frieda) Lemke, all of Rantoul, Arthur and Walter of Rockland; two brothers, Fred and Adolph Bubolz, Rockland, two sisters, Mrs. Otto Mahnke and Mrs. August Raeschke, both of Rockland; 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Reedsville Co-op Funeral home and at Trinity Lutheran church, Rantoul, with the Rev. G. F. Barthel officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Six grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
