Sara Roberta Lehman, daughter of the King, left her earthly body Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, surrounded by four generations of her family in prayer, song, and tears of expectation of awaiting angels. Service: Visitation, 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home. Interment: Forest Park Cemetery, Houston. Sara Roberta Borroum was born Feb. 28, 1923, in Beeville. Active in Bible study fellowship, an avid gardener, golfer, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Dede left her family many memories of her humor, wit, and strong Texas spirit. From her birth in Beeville through longtime Houston residency, and most recently, Broadway Plaza Westover, Sara will be remembered for running the race with gusto and finishing in her Father's arms. There are not words to express our gratitude to the staff of Broadway Plaza Westover and the hospice team of Bonnie, Tracy and Susie. Your witness as the hands of Christ will long be remembered. Sara will be laid to rest next to her husband of 53 years, Spud Lehman, but will be remembered always. As she would say, "God is Good!" Survivors: Children, Sara Boyd and husband, Dr. Douglas Boyd, of Fort Worth, and Robert L. Lehman and wife, Lillian Lehman, of Houston; she passed on many life lessons of love to her grandchildren, Bryan Boyd, Bradley Boyd, Heather Lee, Mark Lehman, and Carter Lehman, as well as her four precious great-grandchildren.
