Robert G. Bridge, 81, of Ephrata, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at his home after a brief illness.

Born in Latrobe, PA, he was the son of the late Lawrence F. and Lillian (Noel) Bridge. His wife, Elizabeth D. (Duggan) Bridge, died in 1992.

Robert worked as a Foreman at Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville and was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ephrata and a former member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in New Holland where he served as Eucharistic Minister along with being involved with other ministries. During the Korean War, he served in the US Army as a medic.

Robert enjoyed reading and watching his grandchildren's sporting events.

Surviving is a son, Francis R., married to Lisa (Smith) Bridge of Mt. Joy; six daughters, Barbara A. Bridge of Lancaster, Linda B. Caccamo of Shamong, NJ, Helen K., married to Neal B. Witmer of Ephrata, Elizabeth B., married to M. Wesley Martin of Lancaster, Janet S. Bridge of Ephrata, and Debra J., married to W. Emery Waine, Jr. of Glenmoore; seven grandchildren, Jessica Caccamo, Madeline Bridge, Alicia, Andrea, Timothy, and Maria Martin, and Aidan Bridge; also surviving is a brother, Lawrence E., married to Flossie Bridge of Bluffton, SC.

Preceding him in death are two brothers, Charles V. and Francis H. Bridge.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 11 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 150 Water St., New Holland, PA 17557, with Reverend Patrick McGarrity, C.SS.R. officiating. Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, New Holland. A viewing will be held on Friday, Dec. 28 from 6-8 pm at the Beck Funeral Home, 315 E. Main St., New Holland with a Rosary Service at 8 pm, and also on Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church from 10-11 am.
