BLOOMINGTON -- Violet M. "Polly" Judd, 87, Bloomington, passed away Saturday (June 24, 2006) at Martin Health Care Center in Bloomington. Cremation had been accorded. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. today at Park United Methodist Church, corner of Oakland Avenue and Allin Street. The Rev. Rob Roy will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or OSF Hospice, 2416 E. Washington St., Bloomington, IL 61704. Violet was born April 18, 1919, in Green County, Ky., a daughter of Charles Lincoln and Lily Beard McKinney. They preceded her in death. She married Raymond L. Judd on Dec. 10, 1936, in Greensburg, Ky. He survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Earlene M. (Jon) Nelson, Bloomington, and Hilda (Melvin) Case, Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Beth Ledbetter, Anderson S.C.; John (Barbara) Rosensteel, Bloomington; Leesa (Andrew) Ringer, Cincinnati, Ohio; and Robert (Lesa) Nelson, Frisco, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Brandon Rosensteel, Bloomington; Blake Rosensteel, Bloomington; Dylan Nelson, Dwight; Nathaniel Ringer, Cincinnati; Macey Rosensteel, Bloomington; Benjamin Joel Ringer, Cincinnati; Grace Nelson, Frisco, Texas; Nicholas Ringer, Cincinnati; and Kaeden John Nelson, Frisco, Texas. Also surviving are one brother, Orval (Agnes) McKinney, Hardyville, Ky., along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by nine brothers and sisters. Violet was the second nurses aid to ever be hired at the old St. Joe hospital where she then later retired in September 1977. She was a member of Park United Methodist Church.
