Canton – Dale Edward Bishop, 73, of Canton, died at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday December 26, 2012 at Graham Hospital Emergency Room in Canton. He was born on October 9, 1939 in Canton to Albert Virgil and Isabelle June (Walton) Bishop. They preceded him in death.
He married Nancy M. Cook in Canton on December 10, 1960. She survives.
Other survivors include two children Rodney E. Bishop of Canton and Debra M. Bishop of Springfield, two brothers Scott (Carol) Bishop of Canton and Dannie (the late Sharon) Bishop of Macomb.
He worked over 30 years as the facilities director at Spoon River College, retiring in 1998. He had also served on their board of trustees. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his family pets.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday December 29 at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
