Henry "Hank" Smith Of Biggs, California Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 on Friday April 29, 2011 at Gridley-Biggs Cemetery Gazabo. Hank passed away April 2, 2011 of natural causes at the age of 91. Hank was born on January 13, 1920 to James & Lizzy Beth Smith in Okemah, Oklahoma and is survived by his wife of 71 years Evangeline "Vangie". A long time resident of Biggs, Hank was active in the Odd Fellows Lodge, Rio Bonito 4-H Club, Rio Bonito Bible Church, Gridley Baptist Church, Oroville Pageant Riders and The Laborers Union Local 185 Retiree's Club for many years. He worked for the railroad and the Boeger Ranch before joining the Laborers Union Local 185. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Elbert and Frank Jennings, Jimmy and Ira Smith. He is survived by his wife Evangeline Smith and their children: Harrold Smith, Jerold and wife Janet Smith, Betty and husband Bill Samprucci, and Bonnie Clark, five grandchildren Teri,Jeff,Toni,Linda ,and Cathy and seven great-grandchildren and his brothers: David and Lee Roy Smith. Contributions to the Tri Counties Retired Laborers Association can be made through the Gridley-Block Funeral Chapel in lieu of flowers.
