Melba J. Cole, 63, died Thursday in Ball Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Cole, who was born in Cameron, Okla., had lived in Muncie for the past 43 years. She was a secretary at Muncie Community Schools and retired after 28 years. She was a member of Fairlawn Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Cole; two sons, Jerry Cole (wife-Pam), and Jack Cole Jr. (wife-Jackie), both of Muncie; three brothers, Rector Griffith Jr. (wife-Marge), San Diego, and George Griffith (wife-Clara), and Lester Griffith (wife-Darlene), both of Fort Smith, Ark.; four sister, Joyce Wagner (husband-Don), Swanton, Ohio, Norma Greentree (husband-Paul), Lawrenceville, Ill., Marion Dalton, Fort Smith, and Ester Stiles (husband-Bob), Tulsa, Okla.; and four grandchildren, Kimberly, Jason, Kevin and Kayli.
Her parents, Rector and Jane Griffith Sr., are deceased.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Parson Mortuary, with Rev. Andrew Phipps officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Calling will be 4-8 p.m. today at the mortuary.
