He was a native of Bulloch County, a 1959 graduate of Statesboro High School and lived most of his life in Savannah.
Hugh was a loving father, husband and was a member of The Sanctuary of Savannah. He was a retired firefighter with the City of Savannah after 32 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed fly fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Roxie Roberts of Savannah; two sons, Kenneth Roberts of Savannah and Shannon (Kathy) Roberts of Jesup; sister, Myrtice (Robert) Parrish; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will begin at 6:00pm Thursday, December 27, 2012 with funeral services to follow at 7:00pm both at The Sanctuary of Savannah with Dr. Larry McDaniel and Dr. Hugo Hammond officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Memorial Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Baxley, GA.
Remembrances may be made to Old Savannah City Missions, 2414 Bull St. Savannah, GA. 31401. Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel.
