Martin W. Loyd, 65, retired merchant, died Sunday, August 28, at his home in Columbia, after suffering a heart attack.
Funeral services were held Monday, August 29, at 3:30 p. m. at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home, with burial in Polk Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Loyd, a native of Giles County, was born September 3, 1900. He was the son of the late Martin Luther Loyd and Mardra Bass Loyd. Mr. Loyd was a trustee of Kraft Memorial Methodist Church, a Mason, a veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nellie Florence Alexander Loyd; two daughters, Mrs. Lessie Clark, Wilwaukee, Wis., and Mrs. James L. Wade, Nashvile; one sister, Mrs. E. O. Erwin, Pulaski; two brothers, Edwin and Lacy Loyd, Pulaski, and five grandchildren.
