Uncle Marvin was the 4th child of George Austin Meranda (1876-1956) and Laura Simpson (1882-1948). The family lived mostly in Fort Bragg, California. He was married to Lillian Norma Hughett, who died not long after he did. His daughter Lillian, lives in Oregon with her family. Tech5 Marvin Meranda died during WWII. It was thought by a lot of the family that he died at Pearl Harbor, but I have since found that he is buried in the North African American Cemetery and Memorial. thanks to Dan Phelan, I just found out my uncle was lost when the ship he was on was sunk and he was never found but he was named on the maker at the North African American Cemetery and Memorial. Thank you Dan. I never knew my Great Uncle Marvin, but my dad, and grandfather never said a bad word about him. I am sure he was a good man. At last he is with family.
