Parents Hagar Holand Sessoms (1815-aft 1884) and Mathew Brittoce Sessoms. Matthew might have been Hagar's owner, as several of Hagar's other children list Anthony"Toney" Sessoms, Sr as the father.

Coraine served in the Civil War in the US Colored troops Calvary. He had at least one other brother who also served in the Civil War (and listed Mathew as their father):
Dorsey (Dossey) Sessoms (1842-1922). Dorsey lived and died in Bertie County
(haven't located his cemetery yet).

Coraine (named spelled many different ways) married 3 times.
1st to Elnora "Disy" Ellison (1845-bef 1890). This is the mother to Josephine
Sessoms (whom he lived w/ in 1930 and who ordered his Civil War headstone).

2nd marriage to Bertha Williams (1856-1894), marr 29 Mar 1893, Norfolk,
they had a dtr Cora See Sessoms (1893-1974)

3rd marriage to Florence Grandy Sears (1852-1924), marr. 23 Sep 1896
