Goldie published 4 volumes of Satterlee Family History. They are in the (US) Library of Congress, L.D.S. Library and several Archives around the country. She used a typewriter, and labored for many (40+) years on this extensive research, and traveled cross country to visit Satterlee family and verify her information.

She was one of 15 children born to her father, although not all of them lived. She married four men, and was without issue:

1930, Feb. 20 Married in Tacoma, Pierce County, WA, to Floyd Francis Irwin. Divorced. He remarried twice.

1937, Sept. 3, Marriage license #2 issued in Spokane, Spokane Co. Wash.
1944, January 2 married as Goldie Smith to Private George Henry Becker of Ellensburg, s/o August Herman Becker & Emma Albertina [Zimmerman].
1947, August 6 re-married George in King County.
Divorced. George remarried in Alaska in 1952, and had a daughter in 1959, Maybelle.

In 1952, while attending the University of Washington, Goldie became interested in researching her mother's (Jefferson) Davis family.

1957, Oct. 25, Marriage #3 in Reno, Washoe Co., NV to Hugh Marshall Moffatt (b. 4/22/07) No. Sydney, Nova Scotia, s/o Louis Henry Moffatt & Lottie Mae [Fulton]. In 1965, they divorced, Goldie's third.

1975, Sept. 25, Marriage #4 in Las Vegas, Clark Co., NV to William Fowler.
For many years Goldie lived in Hemet, California.

In her 90's, with failing health Goldie went to live with a cousin, Ward Monroe Satterlee, in Spencer, SD. She died at a nearby nursing home.
Most of her research records, stored in Ward Satterlee's garage, were destroyed in a 1998 Spencer, SD tornado.

Editor's note, 2014. In March 1994, Goldie entrusted a large loose leaf with original notes of our Satterlee line (Vol. III - Nicholas) for original memorial creator Pat McLachlan to "put on the computer." In her retirement, Pat fulfilled that trust by OCR to CD transfer. Pat's daughter Debbie assisted with teaching technology. We are adding many findagrave.com # and updating information for easy public access.
