She was a retired clerk for the Norfolk Naval Air Station, where she had worked for 30 years. She was the daughter of the late Ethel Herring Henderson Briggs and Luther B. Henderson. She was the widow of Isaac J. Boone and a member of Union United Church of Christ. Mrs. Boone's love was music, and she was an accomplished organist. She had been the organist for Union United Church of Christ and First Church of Christ Holiness, USA, and for more than 20 years, she was the organist for Riddick Funeral Service. Mrs. Brown-Boone was a proud lady of character and principle. She was well respected by her neighbors, fellow church members, and friends.
