Clarence Hamilton was born in 1889 in Cora, Illinois, a son of Charles Hamilton and Nancy Leanna (Metcalf) Hamilton. His siblings include Wilbur of Murphysboro; James of East St. Louis; Mrs. Charles Brush of Jacob; Mrs. Frank Lester of Ava; Mrs. Ervin Yates of Belle Rive; and Miss Lottie Hamilton of Dwight, Illinois.

He married Mamie Boucher in 1917 in Murphysboro. She survives as well as children, John Charles and James, both of Murphysboro; Paul of Gorham; Ralph of Levan township; Mrs. D'Mar Barnes of Raleigh, Ill; Mrs. Rex Burnett of Eldorado, Ill; and Miss Alice Hamilton of Levan township.

Mr. Hamilton was a farmer. He died at the age of 59 at his home in Levan township after a six months' illness.
