Funeral services will be at the Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City for Jesse M. Bryan, 82, of White Ash, who died Sunday, Feb. 4, 1979, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Marion.

He was born Jan. 30, 1897, in Golconda, to William and Hannah Vandegriff. His first wife, Bertha Taylor, died in 1947; his second wife, Ruby Worthen, died in 1961. He then married Gertie Gibbs, who survives.

Other survivors include six daughters, Ruth Goodrich of Pekin, Elizabeth Montgomery of Coulterville, Ina Mae Brazinski of Chicago, Norma Jones of Mount Vernon, Jane Colandro of Murphysboro and Alice Perschbacher of Springfield; three sons, Jesse M. Jr. of New Brunswick, N. J., Dale of Greenville, Ala., and James of West Frankfort; three stepsons, Jerry Almaroad and Steve Zinn, both of White Ash, and Richard Zinn of Saint Charles, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Mona and Marily of Murphysboro; three grandchildren; a brother, Coy Bryan of Herrin; and three sisters, Irene Graff of Murphysboro, Myrtle Gale of Freeburg, and Ethel Mufflin of Belleville. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Mr. Bryan was a retired construction machine operator, a army veteran of World War I, and the IUOE Union No. 318 of Harrisburg.

Burial will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery in Murphysboro.
