Mrs. A. Marie Goodrich, of Clyde Township, passed away Tuesday,
December 15, 2009.
She was born September 15, 1920 in Flint to Mary and Arthur Tarzwell
and moved to Port Huron in her early childhood. Maried later in life
married her late husband of __ years, Russell H. Goodrich and together
they had a family of six, Mary E. McEwen, Helen L. Langolf, Harriett J.
Bowles, David A. Goodrich, Aletha M. Carroll, and Russell H. Goodrich.
Marie was one of the most caring, giving and nuturing people one
could ever meet. she cared for many people in her three adult foster care
homes for 41 years. She treated them as part of her family and included
them in the family burial site. When Marie wasn't caring for her residents,
she was outside in her yard where she loved to be. She was blessed with
a green thumb and always had the most trees of anyone in the
neighborhood, beautiful orchards and other trees and shrubs. Marie was
the hub of the wheel of the family and when anyone needed anything, they
always went to her. She will be deeply and sadly missed by all.
She is survived by her children, Mary E. McEwen, David A. Goodrich,
Aletha M. Carroll and Russell H. Goodrich; and a sister, Edith Bauer. She
was preceded in death by two daughters, Helen Langolf and Harriett J.
Bowles; three sisters, Bertha Thorton, Geraldine Pratt and Aletha Langolf;
a brother, LeeRoy Tarzwell; and a daughter-in-law, Joanne Goodrich.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Private burial will be in Ruby Cemetery.
