The angels came and took Doris V. Dibble Beckman to her heavenly home. She passed away at her earthly home on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, surrounded by her loving family.

Doris was born Feb. 14, 1928, in Cohasset, Minn., to Byron and Lena Dibble.

She married Henry Beckman on April 11, 1946, in Roswell, N.M. They moved to North Dakota and resided there until 1951 when they moved to Butte and have lived here since.

Doris was a person of many interests. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved doing genealogy.

She drew and painted many beautiful pictures, was an accomplished seamstress and knitted many sweaters for all her family. She had a "green thumb" for producing flowering plants, especially violets which were her favorite as Violet was her middle name. She was a wonderful cook and worked at many restaurants in Butte including Gamer's where she worked more than 18 years. Her family always loved to eat at "Mom's," especially looking forward to dessert and one of her wonderful pies.

Doris was a generous person, patient, honest and had great compassion for others. Together she and her husband, Henry raised nine children.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Byron "Buzz" Dibble, Alton Dibble, Earl Dibble and Lyle Dibble; sister, Lorlie Mock; and son-in-law, Dan Kennedy.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Beckman; children and their spouses, Frank and Tina Beckman, Sandra and Harry Rawson, Georgean and Steve Griffith, Patricia Ladd, Carl and Debbie Beckman, Gladys Kennedy, Bonnie McCaslin, Roy and Connie Beckman and Robert and Patricia Beckman. Also surviving her are 25 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis Dibble, Gloy Dibble, Donald Dibble and Glen Dibble; and her sisters, Marion Huard, Leona Nemeth, Ellen Ferrold and Myrna Dibble. She is also survived by her in-laws, Calvin Beckman, Roy Beckman, Darrell and Regina Beckman, Gordon and Carol Beckman, Helen Hammond, Mabel Gulbig and Esther and Jerry Baron; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Doris will be sadly missed by all.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place at Butte Crematories.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The family asks that memorials be made to Rocky Mountain Hospice to honor the loving care they provided to Doris and her family.

Axelson Alternative Cremation is privileged to serve the Beckman Family.
