Mr. Barker was born on May 1, 1938 in Ashe County, to the late James and Pearl Jones Barker.
Mr. Barker was a member of Greens Chapel Baptist Church. He and Josie were married for 51 years. He was housekeeping supervisor at Ashe Memorial Hospital for 33 years. He loved music, playing the guitar and car racing.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Howell Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Barker is survived by: His Wife, 1 Son, 3 Daughters, 2 Sisters, 2 Brother in laws, 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild, 3 step-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
