Bloomington -- The funeral for Helen V Calvert, 90, of Eureka, formerly of Bloomington and Congerville, will be at 1pm Monday at Centennial Christian Church, the Rev Randy A Williams officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be 2 to 5pm today at Metzler Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington.
She died at 1:10 pm Friday, March 1, 2002 at Apostolic Christian Home, Eureka.
Memorials may be made to Centennial Christian Church or Apostolic Christian Home.
She was born July 1, 1911, at Bloomington, the daughter of Thomas B and Adra Ross Selders. She married Joseph W "Wally" Calvert on Dec 5, 1928, at Cleveland OH. He died Oct 4, 1996.
Survivors include a daughter, Leslie L (Jim) Frizzell, Bloomington; a son, Joseph W (Ruth) Calvert Jr, Rule TX; a sister, Elinor Troyer, Jacksonville; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas D Selders, two brothers, Ross T Selders and Paul Selders; and three sisters, Mildred Barr, Carolyn Mays and Charlotte Crumbaker.
Mrs Calvert had worked as a resident hall attendant at IL State University, Normal, for 15 years retiring in 1974.
She was a (lifelong) member of Centennial Christian Church, Bloomington and the Woodford County Home Extension, Eureka.
