Funeral services for George Joseph Weigler, 48, of Brighton, formerly of Alton, who died Wednesday in St. Francis hospital, Litchfield, will be conducted at 2 PM Saturday in Streeper funeral home, internment will be in the Valhalla Memorial Park. Friends may visit the funeral home after 8 PM today.
Weigler, who was born April 15, 1904, in Mount Olive, was a bill poster and was widely acquainted in Alton where he had worked for a number of years at the trade before moving to Brighton.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Hazel Weigler; a son, PFC Joseph Weigler, Fort Custer, Michigan, a daughter, Mrs. Georgia Trout, Godfrey; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Weigler, Mount Olive; a brother, Charles H., Alton, and four sisters, Mrs. Anna Calvert, Alton; Mrs. Mary Buescher, Mount Olive; Mrs. Iola Westbrook, Mount Olive; and Mrs. Violet Rushing, Brazil, Indiana. A brother, John Weigler, preceded him in death in 1941.
