Elizabeth Meeks McLemore (1920 - 2012)

Mrs. Elizabeth Meeks McLemore, age 92 of Stockbridge, GA, formerly of Jackson, TN, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough, GA.

A graveside service for Mrs. McLemore will be conducted on Friday, November 23, 2012 at Ridgecrest Cemetery at 2 p.m. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Ridgecrest Cemetery.

She was born on June 3, 1920 in Mississippi to the late Hardy L. and Eva Meeks. She and her husband, Brooks, were long time members of West Jackson Baptist Church. She married Brooks McLemore on July 20, 1942 and they were married seventy years at the time of his death earlier this year.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McLemore was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Brooks McLemore and her brother, Joe Meeks; sister, Phyllis Meeks Keire and half sister, Mildred Morrison Martin.

She has four surviving nephews, Peter Lee Keire of Denver, CO and Stephen H. Keire of San Francisco, CA, Louis Hardcastle of McDonough, GA and Rocky Hardcastle of Fayette County, TN. She is also survived by her niece, Mia Theresa Meeks and great niece, Britany Meeks of Jackson, MS.

Friends may visit with the family beginning at noon on Friday, November 23, 2012 at George A. Smith & Sons North Chapel.
