He was 81. He was born January 24, 1931 in Rockford, Mich. to Oscar Vernon and Trellis L. (Conant) Dell. On September 29, 1953, he married the former Betty E. Wondergem at the home of Betty's parents in Kent County and she preceded him in death on May 14, 2011.
Bob graduated from Rockford High School in 1949 and later served in the United States Army. He graduated from Ferris Institute School of Pharmacy in 1957. He moved to Cadillac and was employed at Stephan's Drug Store until he retired in 1996. Bob was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cadillac for over 50 years and was ordained as an elder February 10, 1980. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing and snowshoeing. He also enjoyed playing golf with good friends and basketball in the over 30 pick-up league at McKinley School.
He is survived by his daughter, Becky (Norman) Schneiderman of Halifax, Nova Scotia; step grandson, Wolf Schneiderman; caregiver, Gloria Mattison and many special loving staff members of the Curry House.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, James C. Dell and a sister, Dorothy J. Dell.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cadillac with the Rev. Paul Tomlinson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Peterson Funeral Home, Cadillac. Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Oakwood Cemetery in Plainfield Township, Kent County with the Rev. Tom Keizer officiating.
