George Peterson Funeral Held At Six Mile Grove

George Julius Peterson was born in Nevada Township, Minnesota, on May 3, 1881 to Ole and Malena Peterson. He was baptized and confirmed into the Christian Church
at the Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church near, Lyle, Minn.

He attended Pinehurst School and spent most of his life time in the Lyle area with the exception of twenty years which were spent near Buffalo, S. D. At Buffalo he worked for the State Highway Department.

In December of 1930 he and his mother returned to the home farm east of Lyle from Buffalo, where he engaged in farming. In 1942 he moved to St. Paul, Minn, and was employed by Northwest Airlines where he worked until the close of World War II. He then returned to the Lyle Community where he made his home until he was taken ill in December of 1962.

He passed away January 7, 1965 at the age of 83 years, 8 months, and 4 days. Mourning his death are; one brother, Melvin of Austin, Minn., two sisters, Mrs. Alvilde Nelson of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Clara Aal of Williston, N. D., many nieces and nephews, and many friends who will remember his as a kind and congenial man.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, by two infant brothers and two infant sisters, by two brothers, Sven of Spokane, Wash, and Willie of Long Beach, Calif., and by a sister, Mrs. Eddie Hofland of Reeder, N. D.

Funeral services were held at Six Mile Grove Lutheran Church at 1:30 P. M., January 9, 1965 with the Rev. Stanley Klemesrud officiating.
