Shirley Mae (Cook) Lankas, 76, of Lorado, departed this life Saturday, December 22, 2012, at CAMC-General Division, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born November 13, 1936, at Lorado, the daughter of the late Fred and Mabel Lowe Cook.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Lankas;
one sister, Mary Adkins;
two brothers, Fred Cook, Jr. and Jack Cook.

Shirley was a retired admissions supervisor at Man Appalachian Regional Hospital. Devoted to her family, she was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are
her children, Paul Wise and Dale (Sherlane) Adkins, both of Lorado, and Rosalyn (Robert) Beddow of Accoville;
seven grandchildren, Amy (Bill) Hankins of Knoxville, TN, Whitney (Chad) Preston of Man, Cortney (Brandon) White of Lewisburg, Kayla Wise and Kara Wise, both of Martinsburg, Dale Adkins, II of Man, and Brandi Earnest of Sanford, NC;
four great-grandchildren, Jack, Bianca, Luke, and Kamile;
two sisters, Jean Cook of Lorado and Ruth (Tom) Copley of Robinette;
many nieces and nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel at Man with Rev. Rick Brown officiating. Burial in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
