Henrietta "Hennie" Benenhaley, 83, widow of Manning Benenhaley, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Henry Jr. and Mary Frances Ray Benenhaley. Mrs. Benenhaley was a longtime member of Long Branch Baptist Church. She was formerly employed by Campbell Soup Co.

Survivors include two daughters, Lorraine Benenhaley of Sumter and Tracie Baxley (Craig) of Columbia; five grandchildren, Blake Baxley, Brock Baxley, Brenna Buckner, Brooke Buckner and Justin Reynolds; six sisters, Gertrude Benenhaley, Peggy Hood, Lois Cook, Alice Chase and Anne Shoemaker, all of Dalzell, and Connie Buckner of Sumter; and a brother, John Mark Benenhaley of Sumter.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Gladys Ray, Estelle Benenhaley, Louise Benenhaley and Theo Carpenter; and two brothers, Raymond Benenhaley Sr. and Ernest R. Benenhaley.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Long Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Lynn Gardner and the Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Long Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Blake Baxley, Brock Baxley, Steve Sanderson, Justin Reynolds, Brian Benenhaley, Randy Benenhaley, Dean Ray and Henry Benenhaley.

The family will receive friends at the home.
