Lois Anderson Button, 78, of Dallas, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at her home after a 7-year battle with cancer.
Lois was born on June 1, 1934, along with her twin brother, Lyle. She was a daughter of the late Miles and Beulah Mae Vandemark Anderson.
She attended the Dixon Grade School, the Gravel Hill School and graduated from Tunkhannock High School with the class of 1952.
She worked at the Keystone State Shoe Factory and after raising her children worked in the housekeeping department at Shadowbrook Country Club.
She retired from the housekeeping department of College Misericordia in Dallas. She also cleaned the Tractor Store in Dallas for a number of years.
On Sept. 8, 1962, she married Sidney Paul Button. Lois was a very loving and caring person; she adored her children and grandchildren. She and her brother enjoyed going to rummage sales and estate sales. She was a wonderful cook and loved working in her garden. She was a member of the Northmoreland Baptist Church and the Franklin Township Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Anna Mae and Emma Vivian Anderson, Naomi Wilsey R.N., Ruth Hartman, Beulah Barron; brothers, Robert, Miles Jr., Edward and Roy Anderson.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, Tunkhannock, with the Rev. James May and the Rev. James Howell of the Northmoreland Baptist Church officiating the services. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday.
Interment will be held at the Lynn Cemetery, Springville, Pa.
